Shyne

Rapper Shyne adopted the Jewish name Moses Michael Leviy while in prison is schedule to be released after serving 8 1/2 years sentence. The Brooklyn born emcee was convicted for infamous Club New York Shooting on December 27, 1999 while out on the town with Bad Boy Records CEO Sean “Puffy” Combs and his then girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez. After serving 81/2 years on a 10 year sentence, Mr. Leviy will be released on parole October 06, 2009.

There is still a pending civil suit from the shooting incident as well as a contractual agreement with Bad Boy Records. The future looks bright for Shyne as long as he can get Puffy to relinquish him from his contract in order for him to pursue a new record deal.

Now that Shyne is a devoted orthodox Jew, I’m sure his rhymes will not reflect the gritty lifestyles of guns, violence and drugs. Will the fickle hip hop listeners accept his religious devotion or will they shun him for not spitting the urban tale of warfare that they are accustom to? I guess we will have to wait to October 06, 2009 to see.
