SONY & MARVEL COMIC Movie Release Dates

Sony and Marvel Studios Set New Release Dates!
Source:Marvel Studios

Paving the way for the production and release of its multi-character superhero film, The Avengers, Marvel Entertainment, Inc. announced today an adjusted release pipeline for its self-produced feature film properties that reflects the first time individual Super Hero characters and story arcs will be inter-woven and culminate in a multi-character motion picture. Separately, Marvel Studios confirmed today that Sony Pictures Entertainment will release Spider-Man 4 on May 6, 2011. Additionally, Marvel Studios has revised the release dates for Thor and The First Avenger: Captain America as part of its release strategy for an uninterrupted road to The Avengers, now debuting May 4, 2012.

A Marvel character-based film will now launch the summer box office season for three years in a row, from 2010 through 2012.

"This new
schedule strongly sequences Marvel's movie debut dates, big screen character introductions and momentum. It maximizes the visibility of our single character-focused films, leading to the highly anticipated release of the multi-character 'The Avengers' film in 2012," said David Maisel, Chairman, Marvel Studios.

Sony Pictures' and Marvel Studios'
Spider-Man 4 is slated for May 6, 2011. To date, all three motion pictures in the phenomenally successful "Spider-Man" franchise have generated nearly $2.5 billion worldwide theatrically.

Below is Marvel Studios' 2010-2012 updated release schedule for its slate of self-produced and financed feature films:

Marvel Studios Feature Film Pipeline
Film/Character - Prior Release Date - Current Release Date

Iron Man 2 - May 7, 2010 - May 7, 2010
Thor - July 16, 2010 - June 17, 2011
The First Avenger: Captain America - May 6, 2011 - July 22, 2011
The Avengers - July 15, 2011 - May 4, 2012

The release date for
Iron Man 2 remains unchanged on May 7, 2010. Iron Man 2 is the sequel to the blockbuster film, Iron Man, which has grossed nearly $600 million worldwide.

Nike Air Force 1 “Huarache” Hybrid

While it makes me feel old, seeing the shoes I grew up with reinterpreted as part of Nike’s great hybrid program is exciting to say the least. I remember getting my first pair of Huarache’s like it was yesterday, the colours and the materials made the shoe stand out like nothing before. Nike have incorporated those elements into an Air Force 1 mould, and have come up with this shoe, one of the best AF1’s I’ve seen in a long time. nike-air-force-one-huarache-hybrid

New Ipod Shuffle

Apple have compiled another great creation with the latest flash-based iPod Shuffle. This straight to the point gives nothing away with very little to talk about aside from quality and it becoming the smallest music player on the market as we speak. One aspect which makes this a remarkable piece is the VoiceOver function that allows the player to tell you what song, artist and album are currently playing.

2012 For BATMAN 3

2012 For BATMAN 3?
Author: Jett

Based on conversations with industry insiders as well as the apparent schedule for
INCEPTION (preproduction, shooting, and postproduction), it’s starting to look like BATMAN 3 is going to end up being a Summer 2012 release.

Firstly, let’s take a quick look at a little Nolan history.

We know now that the script for THE DARK KNIGHT was finished before the end of 2005 -- about a half a year after BATMAN BEGINSwas in theaters. Nolan worked on THE PRESTIGE during the latter part of 2005 on into 2006, with the film ultimately being released in October 2006. In July of 2006 while the director was still working on THE PRESTIGEWarner Bros. officially announced that Chris would helm TDK, it would be released in the Summer of 2008, and that Heath Ledger had been cast as The Joker. Once THE PRESTIGE hit theaters in Fall of ‘06, there was then a six month gap before filming began on TDK.

Right now, INCEPTION is in preproduction. From what I’ve heard through the grapevine, filming will take place from mid-2009 and finish late in the year. Nolan and co. will most likely be involved with post for most of the first half of 2010, readying the film for it’s mid-July release.

It looks as if there will be no way that BATMAN 3 can go through pre, filming, and post during the second half of 2010 and the first part of 2011 and be ready for a Summer ‘11 release.

Doing the math, the timeframe between THE DARK KNIGHT to INCEPTION is nine months later than it was between BATMAN BEGINS to THE PRESTIGE -- that’s nearly a year folks. Thus it appears that BATMAN 3 will come four years after TDK.

I know a four year gap is a bummer, but cheer up -- at least we know a Nolan-directed BATMAN 3 is coming!

If you can’t read the description of BATMAN 3, it says the following:

“A sequel to one of the highest grossing movies ever made, this blockbuster will continue the franchise’s reinvention of superhero cinema and aims to be a pop culture event.”

With THE DARK KNIGHT having pulled in $1 Billion worldwide at the boxoffice and gosh knows how much more on DVD and Blu-ray, there’s simply no way in hell there isn’t going to be another BATMAN.

Now recently, BOF finally went public with some info (click here for that story) that I’ve been sitting on since the Fall as I wanted to hear the same or similar thing from other -- and unrelated -- sources. Anyway, that info was that when director Chris Nolan came to an agreement to helm INCEPTION for Warner Bros., there is at least some sort of understanding between him and the studio that he’ll do a third BATMAN -- though his reps won't confirm or deny it.

Of course, there’s been no “official” confirmation of this and there probably won’t be for a while. The bottom line here is that if Chris wasn't coming back, we'd know by now...

In other words, "Team Nolan is BACK!"

BUT, even though Warner Bros. is on the record as wanting to give Chris all the time and space he needed to decided if another BATMANwas in him, there be/was a contingent plan -- just in case. Do you blame them? Please. Anyway...

Industry scuttlebutt of late spat out an interesting name of a director that Warner Bros. might have been (past tense, for the grammer challenged) eyeing to take over the Bat-franchise IF Chris Nolan decided he was done with Gotham City. And apparently, this particular director is interested in Batman on film -- at least an adaptation of a classic graphic novel starring The Dark Knight. Based on his past -- and upcoming work -- the guy knows how bring comics to film.

With that said, I believe -- and wholeheartedly want -- Chris Nolan bring us one more BATMAN. But what about AFTER BATMAN 3? Would you be keen on Zack Snyder taking over the franchise?

3Way Consortium

The first wave of 3Way Consortium releases from adidas Originals unites three of Europe’s leading sneaker boutiques - Sneakersnstuff, Patta and LimitEditions, representing Amsterdam, Stockholm and Barcelona respectively, with New York’s A.R.C. Opting to rework a shoe each in their own unique style, all four join forces for a fifth shoe that reflects the best of all involved. An eclectic collection, somehow it proves totally cohesive as a whole, reflecting the individual visions of all concerned.

Louis Vutton Kanyes UPdate

VUITTON HIGH TOP x KANYE WEST

Since the last few weeks, you might have seen 4 differents colorways of 2 differents sneakers made by KANYE WEST for LOUIS VUITTON. After, red, black and white the DON LOW TOP should also comes in grey, and a "mlxed dark/light brown with a pink touch colorway". And, after the "Grey and FluoPink sole" the HI TOP sneaker should also comes in black and white. This collaboration between the french house and the american artist is really interesting and significant on the high-fashion market, and sneaker market. It means that sneaker culture and sneaker market (sportswear one) as we knew it are dead. The mass market is gonna totally absorb it. And it means also lots of thing about the fact that LOUIS VUITTON wants to extend his consumer targets. LOUIS VUITTON want to have this new consumer : older with some money, and a new fashion culture.

B.I.G.

By The Honorable Adam Thomas

This past Monday marked the 12th anniversary of Christopher Wallace’s passing. Like most honorable cats out there, Biggie Smalls had a profound impact on my life as a fan of music. He has also had an impact on how I look at music as a whole. Some say with only two albums, you can’t be mentioned among the greatest of a specific genre. I say, point out an artist who has had two albums with as much impact as Notorious B.I.G.

This week, Tale of the Tape starts with Cooking Soul & DJ Drama who give us The Notorious B.I.G. Tribute.  Young Money artist Tyga isOutraged & Underage. Nu Jersey Devil shows us the Art of the Devil. Emilio Rojas plans to beRecession Proof. Nino Bless is determined to be The Latin Marksman. Tale of the Tape is unbelievable.

Cooking Soul BIG

Cooking Soul & DJ Drama

The Notorious B.I.G. Tribute

Heavy Rotation

Backpacker or gat popper, it doesn’t matter; we all have our favorite Biggie Smalls track. Cooking Soul & DJ Drama have gotten together with a hodgepodge of artists to salute the king of NY in The Notorious B.I.G. Tribute. With artist ranging from Skyzoo (“Big Poppa”), LA the Darkman (“I Love The Dough”), and Jean Grae (“Hypnotize”), there are a lot of different looks coming on this disc. All the different looks only prove of one thing, “We’ll always love Big Poppa.”

TYGA

Tyga

Outraged & Underage

One & Done

Tyga is one of the featured artists in Lil Wayne’s Young Money click. To most people, the majority of people who are in Young Money are nothing more than artists who fill 16’s between Lil Wayne verses on mixtapes. Tyga isn’t known by just that, he has the boost of being the cousin of Travis McCoy. Other than that, he isn’t known to drop a classic verse. He tries his hardest in Outraged & Underage to break away from the pack. He even gets with boss Lil Wayne (“Breaktime”). In the end, even with the marked improvement (“Stampede”), this is pretty boring stuff. The good news is he is still young, so he still has time.

NU

Nu Jersey Devil

Art of the Devil

One & Done

Jumping from behind the board to the front of the mic usually is a sink or swim proposition. Of course for every DJ Quik & Kanye West, there are another 5 producers who really show no real potential for greatness. Nu Jersey Devil is part of the latter class. The Art Of The Devil mixtape is his first collection of titles for listeners. There are tracks where he shows the ability to make some interesting songs (“Different Girl”), but nothing is awe inspiring. The Art Of The Devil won’t stick to your rotation.

Emilio

Emilio Rojas

Recession Proof

Peep It

Times are hard right now for all of us. Everything seems to be going down but gas prices. In this time span, various artists have come out with their own ways of trying to reach the masses. Emilio Rojas has taking that route, saying his material is so hot, that it’s Recession Proof. While there are some dope songs on here (“Way She Moves”) and the kid is gifted with the word play (“On the Ave”), this disc isn’t just what the doctor ordered (“Just One Night”) to raise the Hip-Hop index to Golden Age levels. Even so, take a listen, because it does raise Emilio Rojas’ stock.

Nino

Nino Bless

Latin Marksman (The Hit Files Vol. 1)

Peep It

There are many emcees, both young and old, which are spending their time going in circles talking instead of working until they reach the masses.  Nino Bless is not one of those emcees. Being 1/5th of the most lyrical underground super-group Slaughterhouse should mean that Nino Bless can spit. He proves he can do it on his own with Latin Marksman. He shows some dexterity in his styles with a few good tracks (“Need Answers”), a couple of duos (“Lift Em Up”), and of course the Slaughterhouse self titled track that gets your head bobbing. Of course, this is a bit short, and it isn’t perfect, but this should get a bit of burn.
