0MTV NEWS | DJ KHALED RECRUITS USHER, DRAKE FOR VICTORY ALBUM
“I’m in beast mode,” DJ Khaled told Mixtape Daily when he stopped by to visit the 1515 Boys in a Champion hoodie and an extra scruffy beard.
You can’t blame him for the look. The Miami don is hard at work on his next album, Victory, the fourth installment of his hit anthems. The project is slated for a 2010 release on his We the Best imprint with E1 Records.
Like a cocky chef who’s confident in his skills, Khaled gave us some of the ingredients he’s using to cook up Victory but was hush-hush when it came to what we can actually expect. The meal ain’t ready yet — until then, he’s gonna leave us starving.

0RICK ROSS NAMED #5 ON MTV’S TOP MC’S LIST AND ROSS IS CO-SIGNED BY RAKIM
The 2009 Hottest MCs in the Game rollout is on! As in 2007 and 2008, the list, determined by the MTV News Hip-Hop Brain Trust, is based on an MC’s achievements right now, rather than an entire career. The criteria is based on a combination of rhyme skill, flow and how those things are implemented musically as the main factors. The Brain Trust also considers buzz, impact, commercial success — sales, airplay, business ventures, Web presence, endorsements and helping to spawn other artists’ careers — and the intangible, impact: Can an artist not only contribute to the rap game but influence cultural shifts? Are they trendsetters? All of these factors — and the results of our audience poll, which closed last week and gets a vote at the Round Table during the Brain Trust’s debate — contribute to deciding who is the Hottest MC in the Game. We’ll be announcing an MC’s rank every day this week, with the full list revealed on Sunday at 10 p.m. during “P. Diddy’s Starmaker”!

0Shyne Finally
Finally this man is FREE. but there may be a problem.. .
It looks like Shyne's homecoming is on hold for the moment.
The former Bad Boy rapper (born Jamal Barrow) was scheduled to be released from prison Tuesday (October 6) after serving more than nine years of a 10-year sentence in connection with the 2001 Club New York shooting involving Diddy and Jennifer Lopez.
But his release is now under review, as representatives for the rapper revealed to MTV News that the Brooklyn MC is being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at an unspecified facility in Western New York State. Officials are determining whether or not to deport the rapper, who was born in Belize, a rep explained.

0Pharrell x Rhea
Pharrell's falsetto can only go so far. So he, along with the rest of the N.E.R.D. troops, recruited a new singer into the fold for their fourth album, Instant Gratification, slated to be released sometime in 2010.
The addition of Rhea, introduced to the band by a mutual friend, has the producer promising some lofty things for the foursome's next project.
"Musically, we're just somewhere else [with her]," Pharrell told MTV News. "The music is now very 3-D. It's something you have to hear. But you'll see. We're definitely somewhere else. I want to leave that impact moment for when you purchase your download and you purchase your CD. The music is very three-dimensional. We're just really excited. We feel like N.E.R.D. has always been the punks of hip-hop and the outcasts of alternative music — just a little different. But this time, we're taking no prisoners."
The Neptunes artist explained Rhea might be petite, at just 5-foot-4, but her booming voice and her classical background blend in with the genre-bending trio of N.E.R.D., also including Chad Williams and Shae.
"Now you have this little Tinkerbell that's just stepped in and has been amazing," he said. "It's made it a fun process. We can go in so many more directions, because we have the vocal support."
Rhea, a Toronto native of Guyanese descent, met the fellas only once in person before she auditioned for them via Skype. She sang "His Eye Is on the Sparrow." Her rendition impressed the guys, and she soon found herself signing on.
"It was just a really good time," she said of meeting the collective. "When I came in there and I met them and they heard me sing, I think they decided it was the right fit."
"Don't be bashful," Pharrell chimed in. "We lost our minds. We thought she was great."

0Nas letter
NaS wrote this letter in regards to the death Derrion Albert & how he was killed by being beat up.
Dear Young Warriors fighting the wrong wars! Killing each other is definitely played out. Being hurt from the lost of a love one was never cool.
Dear Young Warriors fighting the wrong war! I know that feeling, that frustration with life and needing to take it out on someone, any one. But….
We chose the dumbest things to go the hardest for. I remember seeing deaths over 8 ball jackets, Fila sneakers, and name plate chains. Deaths over “he say, she say”!!!!! “I’m from this block or I’m from that block”, or “my moms n pops is f*cked up now the whole world gotta pay”!!!
I remember feeling like I was the hardest “n*gga” breathing. And I couldn’t wait to prove it. But let’s think. What are we really proving?? And proving what to who?? Everybody knows Chicago breeds the strongest of the strong but I just feel, me, being ya brother from another state feels your pain as if I grew up with you in ya very own household.
You have the ability and mindpower to change they way we are looked at. Look who’s watching us young warriors, look who’s throwing us in jail constantly, look at the ignorance in the world. Look at the racist dogs who love to see us down. Loving to bury us in the ground or in jail where we continue this worthless war on one another.
Young warriors…. We are WASTING more and more time. We gotta get on our jobs and take over the world. Cuz this movie left the theaters years ago, Juice, Menace, Boys n the Hood , Blood n Blood Out, Belly!
When we see each other why do we see hatred? Why were we born in a storm, born soldiers, WARRIORS….and instead of building each other up we are at war with each other.. May the soul of this young person find peace with the almighty. I’m with you young warriors. You’re me and I’m you. But trust me! you are fighting the wrong war.
This sh*t sucks !!

0hundred converse
Keith Hufnagel and Hanni El Khatib, worked with Converse designers to create the HUF version of the Converse Skidgrip, a shoe from the Converse archives that originally debuted in the 1980s. Keeping the styling clean and simple Huf gave it monochromatic black canvas uppers with a repeat “H” pattern on outer and lining that subtly references vintage skate graphics and type.
“We wanted to reference the skate and surf vibe of the 1980s and the Skidgrip was a great, authentic foundation.”
As a contributor to 1HUND(RED), a percentage of the net wholesale price of the shoe will go to help fight AIDS in Africa, giving consumers an opportunity to become agents of change and offering a way to turn design into power.
The HUF for Converse 1HUND(RED) Artists Skidgrip hi shoe is available in a high-top, black canvas version. The shoe launches globally on October 3rd 2009 and will be available at HUF SF and HUF LA locations, retailed for $75 USD. A great size run will also be available–sizes 3.5 – 13.

0this nigga 50 is dumb.
After a long weekend of activites, including performing, throwing a festival in his old neighborhood in Queens, and preparing for his upcoming Thisis50 Concert, 50 Cent has definitely been working hard.
This afternoon while in his Manhattan offices, employees say that 50 Cent was listening to Fat Joe's new album, "J.O.S.E. 2" when all the sudden, he collapsed! An ambulance was called, and by the time they arrived, 50 Cent regained consciousness and was complaining of blurred vision and a severe migraine. 50 Cent was rushed to Mt. Sinai hospital at 4:26 pm.
Doctors say after performing a Cat Scan and EKG there seems to be some damage to his auditory cortex, which is the region of the brain that is responsible for processing sound.

0J.COLE
Unlike when Rell and Young Steff were signed to Roc-a-Fella, we feel pretty
safe in assuming that when Jay-Z signed J. Cole as the first artist to this
Roc Nation imprint, he wanted him to be a star. Our assumptions were
verified when we learned the North Carolina-born rapper was going to be
featured along side Hov on his much anticipated album The Blueprint 3
on a song called “A Star is Born.” It seemed pretty fitting, given the buzz
Cole has been generating for himself, first with his “The Warm Up” mixtape,
then with various features and freestyles. And to think, only a couple years
ago, he was rockin’ a t-shirt saying “Produce for Jay-Z or Die Trying” hoping
to get Mr. Carter to notice him.
Suffice to say, being featured on a Jay-Z album is more than a big deal.
Besides the world knowing your name, being deemed worthy enough to
share some track time with Hova is an honor in of itself. To find out what
he’s been up to and how it really feels to appear on a Jay album, Complex
caught up with J. Cole while he was in Manhattan beginning work on
his Roc Nation debut
